2026 Activity Schedule

Tuesday, July 14, 2026

Welcome to Pocatello. Choirs arrive in Pocatello and are greeted by their choir guides and host families in the magnificent Stephens Performing Arts Center Rotunda. Choir members spend the evening with their host families or at their other accommodations.

Wednesday, July 15, 2026

MORNING—Welcome Ceremony and Ski Lift. Festival participants are transported to the scenic Pebble Creek Ski Area located on the slopes of Mt. Bonneville, approximately 20 minutes southeast of Pocatello in the Caribou National Forest. Each choir is introduced and performs one musical number.  Following the ceremony, participants may take the ski lift to the top of the 8,300-foot (2,530-meter) mountain to enjoy sweeping views of the Portneuf Valley before hiking back down. Lunch will be served.

AFTERNOON—Rehearsals and Free Time. In the afternoon, choirs will rehearse for the community concerts that evening. During free time, festival participants are welcomed to explore the Idaho Museum of Natural History, play games at the Pond Student Union Building, visit the animals at Zoo Idaho, or take walking tours of the shops and buildings in Historic Downtown Pocatello.

EVENING—Community Concerts. Following a provided dinner, all choirs will perform at a designated venue on the campus of Idaho State University, including the Jensen Grand Concert Hall.

NIGHT—Choir Directors' Reception. The choir directors are invited to participate in a reception where they can socialize and become acquainted with one another.

Thursday, July 16, 2026

MORNING—Choral Workshops. All choirs participate in choral workshops and activities at Idaho State University.

AFTERNOON—Outdoor Concert, Rehearsals, and Free Time. Lunch will be served on the Idaho State University Quad during an outdoor concert where some of the choirs will perform. Non-performing choirs join the audience. During the afternoon, choirs will have free time and a rehearsal period for the community concerts that evening.

EVENING—Community Concerts. Following a provided dinner, all choirs will perform at a designated venue on the campus of Idaho State University, including the Jensen Grand Concert Hall.

Friday, July 17, 2026

MORNING—Choral Workshops. All choirs participate in choral workshops and activities at Idaho State University.

AFTERNOON—Outdoor Concert, Rehearsals, and Free Time. Lunch will be served on the Idaho State University Quad during an outdoor concert where some of the choirs will perform. Non-performing choirs join the audience. During the afternoon, choirs will have free time and a rehearsal period for the community concerts that evening.

NIGHT—Splash Dance Activity. All festival participants and their host families are invited to join us for a private Splash Dance party at the Ross Park Aquatic Complex. There is a swimming pool, lazy river, activity pool, and zero-depth pool with playground. You can sit in the turf areas or dance to the live music!

Saturday, July 18, 2026

MORNING/AFTERNOON—Rehearsals and Free Time. Each choir is scheduled 45 minutes of rehearsal time in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall for the Gala Concert that evening. The rest of the day is spent with host families.

EVENING—Gala Concert. Each choir will perform for approximately 10 minutes at the Gala Concert held in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall.

Sunday, July 19, 2026

MORNING—Worship Services. Choirs may be invited to sing a sacred selection during worship services at local church congregations.

AFTERNOON—Farewell Activities. All participants and host families get together for a picnic and closing activities held at Ross Park.

Monday, July 20, 2026

Departure from Pocatello. Choirs leave Pocatello according to their itineraries.
