Applications are now being accepted for participation in the 2026 Idaho International Choral Festival.

The Idaho International Choral Festival is a choir showcase held in Pocatello, Idaho, USA. Choirs from around the world of all types are welcome to apply including men’s, women’s, mixed-voice, youth, and children’s choirs. Applying choirs are screened by a selection committee based on musical ability. Participation in the Festival is by official invitation only. Selected choirs are expected to participate in all official Festival activities.

Transportation and Lodging

All choirs must finance their travel to and from Pocatello. A valid United States Visa is required for all international participants and must be obtained well in advance.* Upon arrival, a Choir Coordinator is assigned to each choir and remains with the choir throughout the Festival. Choirs traveling from outside the United States will be housed with local families and provided all meals during the Festival. Domestic choirs are responsible for arranging their own accommodations through Idaho State University Housing or local hotels. Festival staff is available to assist with reservations upon request. Domestic choirs are included in all official Festival group meals and social functions. Transportation for international choir members will be provided by host families or Festival staff. The Festival will provide transportation for domestic choirs to and from official Festival activities.

Fees

There are no application or participation fees associated with the Idaho International Choral Festival.

Deadline

The official deadline for submitting applications is March 31, 2026. However, because applications are reviewed in the order received, you are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Invitations will not be extended after the maximum capacity has been reached.

* It will be your responsibility to procure all necessary travel documents. The process for obtaining United States Visas, in some cases, can be very involved. Past experience and information from the United States Government indicate that the process of obtaining visas can take up to eight weeks. In order to effectively and efficiently plan for the Festival and to ensure the support for your visit is complete, the Festival committee requires that you make application for your visas, as to ensure you complete the visa process and obtain your visas six months prior to the first day of the Festival. This early application will allow you and the Festival staff adequate time to respond to the United States Consulate if problems occur or additional documentation is requested. Additionally, by starting and completing the visa process as required, you give the Festival committee adequate time to plan for your accommodations, meals, and transportation needs. The Festival staff will assist you with the visa process in every way possible. If there are problems with these requirements, please let the Festival staff know as soon as possible. Our goals are to include excellent choirs from around the world and to provide a superb and meaningful experience for all involved in the Festival.
