Provide a Home
One of the greatest opportunities for the residents of the Pocatello-Chubbuck area is to host two to four choir members in their homes during the Idaho International Choral Festival. They greet the choir members at the Stephens Performing Arts Center at Idaho State University as they arrive in buses from Salt Lake City or Idaho Falls. The choir members are taken to their homes where one of the greatest cultural exchanges in the world takes place. During the festival you and your international guests will have a wonderful time getting to know each other. It is a great opportunity to expose children and families of all ages to a different culture, teach them about other parts of the world, and show a tolerance over world issues. The worst part of being a host family is having to say goodbye as the choir members board their bus to leave.
As a host family, you will be asked to provide accommodations, breakfasts, and morning and evening transportation for a minimum of two international guests. That will require a bed, which the two choir members can share, and access to bathroom facilities. Host families are given free concert tickets so they can show support for their international guests.
